April 2006

CFOsources attended "Seize the India Trend" organized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the Taiwan-India Cooperation Council. We attended the first NASSCOM meeting 2 years ago in Taipei and it was a small turn out. This time around there was a lot of press and support for more linkages between Taiwan and India.

Stan Shih, Founder of Acer spoke to an audience of about 200, the last time we attended the NASSCOM conference in Taipei there were only 30 people. It's a dramatic turn around in every sense.

Two years ago there was a lot of outright skepticism about India 1. Having market potential 2. Being a place where Asians could outsource.

This time there was a feeling of excitement and Taiwanese companies have started to pour investment dollars into India. This is still small compared to Taiwanese companies investing over 100 Billion USD in China (The largest foreign investor in China) but it is sure to pick up over the next few years.
